£3,000 per meeting for "missing" Tory Councillor

8.09.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 3rd Sep 2009

missing

Anchorsholme's Conservative Councillor, Michael Jebson

has received the equivalent of £3,000 per meeting

in the last 12 months, the Conservative Councillor has

only attended 2 Council meetings. Anchorsholme Liberal

Democrats have launched a petition calling for the missing

Councillor to resign. Former Anchorsholme Councillor, Jon

Bamborough said:-

"Councillor Jebson is probably a great bloke, however, we

don't think he deserves to be paid over £3,00 per meeting. The

residents of Anchorsholme have been let down by Michael

Jebson and they have been let down by the Conservative

Council that has refused to sack Cllr. Jebson. This is the

same Conservative Party that promised to clean up this

town, the same Conservative Party that accepted not one

but two gifts of £5,000 from a building company who later

submitted multi million pound development plans."
